Up to three-quarters of pregnant women have at least some nausea,  queasy feeling in your stomach or vomiting during the first trimester. This is commonly called as morning sickness – a common affliction that leaves mums-to-be feeling nauseous, vomiting and generally unwell.

Although morning sickness often starts during the start of the day, it can hit at any time of the day or night. Technically known as nausea and vomiting of pregnancy (NVP), symptoms typically start before week 9 of pregnancy.

Even a mild case of nausea can wear a pregnant woman down, and bouts of round-the-clock nausea and vomiting can leave you exhausted and miserable.

Fortunately, there are a few ingredients that has proven to ease morning sickness for some mums-to-be.

Here are 6 foods that may help relieve the symptoms of morning sickness.

Ginger is an age old remedy for combating nausea, so make yourself a cup of hot ginger tea to warm your tummy.

Some claim that since morning sickness often strikes in the morning, a couple of dry crackers (or plain sweet biscuits) before getting out of bed helped!

Lemon can calms some people’s tummies, so try sniffing some zest, squeezing juice into a glass of water, drinking flat lemonade or even sucking a segment freshen up.

Some mums-to-be have tried banana, oats and yogurt that are high-carbohydrate and high-protein food can help to ease morning sickness.
