I really love writing and have kept written diaries for years until I got a computer and typing became a whole lot easier to pen my thoughts down. That was well, 8 years ago. Now, I blog to remember my journey in life. The ups and downs, the brands I experience, my journey as a new mother. It'll be quite nice to have a blog to reflect on when I am old and wrinkly. 🙂
Blogging publicly is a double edged sword. Every word that you put out there on the WWW subjects you to people judging you. I've learnt not to take the public's opinion with a pinch of salt and blog whatever I like. It is my blog, my space to express myself after all.
I was blogging exclusively about beauty products when Daniel came along and my blog is now more all-rounded lifestyle focused, featuring a wider variety of topics from pregnancy, parenting, beauty and travel. With Daniel in my life, I also have a lot less time to blog. Sometimes I have to go out just to churn out 1 blogpost!
I would definitely encourage all mothers to blog, not because you want to earn money or get freebies, but to record your motherhood. I am very glad I took the time and effort to note down the little things I experienced and it was surreal to read it all over again just 1 year down the road. With so much more added responsibilities in your life with the new LO, it is likely you'll forget the little details that will mean a lot in time to come.
Read to your child often and from as young as possible. I totally believe in that.
